Today oct 10 2010, through out the globe people celebrated a day against the climate change and global warming. Today's program was highly supported by the organization named 350.org. when such enthusiasm was in the air how could Panauti be far from it.So to cherish such remarkable day a small gathering was held in the premises of Indreswor Mahadev which was organised by hamro panauti-for preservation and promoton in collaboration with ILBS and P3RAM group along with representatives from NYCA.
The program was started off with a initiation fight against the environmental degradation and to promote ecological aspect of our city along with the religious and culture and ended with the commitment that everyone will support and work to achieve the aim!
The aim of today's gathering was to spread the message of how gradual speeding increment of level of carbon dioxide is hampering our environment and health. According to scientists the level of carbon dioxide in present context is 392 ppm whereas it should have been below 350 ppm, and still the level is continuing to rise at the rate of 2 ppm per year. So this campaign is to alert everyone about the consequences that we are suffering such as unusual rainfall, drought, global warming etc and of such similar problem that are yet to be seen if proper steps are not taken against it at a proper time.
